Overview
We feel extremely lucky and proud to present our very special boy 'Paddington bear' at stud. At home we call him 'Bear' for short. He is an extremely rare Chocolate Merle Miniature Poodle Stud dog. One of only a hand full in the country at the moment. He is proven and a natural, keen stud dog who knows his job. This merle colour is highly sought after, particularly in cross breed puppies e.g. cockapoos, Labradoodles etc. This colour is rare, new and very different, making it in high demand and there are very few litters around at the moment containing merle pups. is a stunning example of a chocolate merle Miniature Poodle his markings are fantastic and should pass to his offspring. He stands at 14 inches to the shoulder. He is happy to mate naturally or we can offer artificial insemination at no extra charge if preferred.
Temperament
Paddington Bear is an absolute joy! Everyone who meets him wants to take him home. He has an amazing temperament and is very intelligent. He's a very playful, loyal and loving boy who loves to play with his best mate Jack. They are best buds and do (almost) everything together.
Health
Paddington bear has been extensively DNA tested and has his own CLEAR certificates for:
- Progressive Retinal Atrophy (prcd-PRA) Eye Test
- Osteochondrodysplasia (OCD)
- Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE)
- Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
- Von Willebrand Disease (VWD1)
When you choose mate your girl with Paddington Bear, any puppies produced are guaranteed NOT to be affected by any of the issues listed above (regardless of weather or not the bitch is tested). This is because Paddington Bear is Clear of all these issues and as long as one parent is tested Clear, the pups cannot develop the issue tested for.
He is regularly semen tested to make sure he has good fertility and he has regular vet health checks to ensure he is peak condition. He is fully up to date with his annual injections as well as the kennel cough vaccine and worming and flea treatments.
Booking
We are flexible as to times and dates. It is best to book in with us a soon as possible (as soon as your bitch begins to bleed) to ensure the stud you want is available and not already booked or at rest (we do not over use our boys and need to ensure they get a rest period between matings) so we ask customers to give us a ring to book their appointment as soon as they notice that their bitch is in season.
However we can often accommodate short notice matings and often have people call us when they have been unsuccessful with other stud dogs elsewhere so it is well worth giving us a call.
Fee
The stud fee for Paddington Bear is £395 and is due on the first mating. You will then be issued with a copy of his pedigree, all his DNA test certificates and a photo of him to show to your puppy buyers. We will also include a sheet explaining all the health tests and what they are for.
