Overview

Bertie is a really stunning little boy. He has the very rare mix of having the red/apricot coat paired with chocolate nose and eyes. We had been looking for a good quality poodle with this combination for many years and finally found our boy. This colour combination means that he is very versatile and will make a suitable mate for every colour of female. He can produce a range of different coloured puppies.

Besides colour, Bertie is a nicely put together miniature poodle. He is on the smaller side which means he will make a nice match for smaller girls as well as the taller ladies. Although petite, he is perfectly formed and is the Teddy bear type rather than the fine boned type poodle. He has a lovely thick coat of curls and stands at approx. 12 inches to the shoulder. The stud fee for Bertie £300.

Temperament

Bertie is a real fun loving cheeky chappie. He loves to play both with us and his doggy friends. He is such a happy little boy. He is absolutely adored wherever he goes and he loves all the fuss and attention. You can sit and cuddle and stroke him for as long as you like and he will always come back for more. He thinks everyone is his friend and is real softie who is great with children, adults and other dogs.

Bertie is very affectionate in fact the only thing he loves more than a fuss is girls! He loves the ladies and is very excited when a girlfriend arrives.

Health

Bertie has been extensively DNA tested and has a CLEAR certificates for:

Progressive Retinal Atrophy (prcd-PRA) Eye Test
Von Willebrand Desease (vWD-1)
Gangliosidosis (GM2)
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE)
Osteochondrodysplasia (OC)

When you choose to mate your girl with Bertie, any puppies produced are guaranteed NOT to be affected by any of the issues listed above (regardless of wether the bitch is tested or not). This is because Bertie is Clear of all these issues and as long as one parent is tested Clear, the pups cannot develop the issue tested for.

He is regularly semen tested to make sure he has good fertility and he has regular vet health checks to ensure he is peak condition. He is fully up to date with his annual injections as well as the kennel cough vaccine and worming and flea treatments.

Booking

We are flexible as to times and dates. It is best to book in with us a soon as possible (as soon as your bitch begins to bleed) to ensure the stud you want is available and not already booked or at rest (we do not over use our boys and need to ensure they get a rest period between matings) so we ask customers to give us a ring to book their appointment as soon as they notice that their bitch is in season. However we can often accommodate short notice matings and have people call us when they have been unsuccessful with other stud dogs elsewhere so it is well worth giving us a call.

Fee

The stud fee for Bertie is £300 and is due on the first mating. There is no charge for a second visit. You will then be issued with a copy of Bertie's pedigree, all his DNA test and a photo to show your puppy buyers. We will also include a sheet explaining all the health tests and what they are for.
